Ford F250 Recalls

Ford has a decent rapport in developing high quality vehicles. But, there have been several recalls, especially on Explorer and other pick-up/heavy duty trucks.

Two of the recent Ford F250 recalls are covered in this article.

Recall 1

On 26th January 2009, Ford recalled 2008 Ford F-250, which was developed on the platform of Ricon with wheelchair lifts. Sometimes, these lifts failed to comply with the needs of Safety Standards. Because of this, the antilock braking system may not predict the existence of platform weight.

As a result, the lift passenger may be injured. With this problem, nearly 108 units participated in this recall.

Recall 2

On 24th February 2011, Ford recalled 2011 Ford F-250, which had the problems with integrated diagnostic system. This is because of faulty software installed in this system. This software was not following the correct units of characters, and it doesn’t have capacity to locate a body control module that needs replacement of correct BCMs.

Due to this fault, the vehicle may lead to a serious crash or a misfire; approximately 8022 affected units participated in this recall and rectified.

If your F-250 has a similar issue, go to the nearest dealership at the earliest.
