Recall Due to Problem in Electrical System

2008 F250 has been recalled due to issues related to the electrical system in the vehicle.

It was recalled on March 26th, 2007. The number of potential units that were affected in the recall is around 1022. On few of the trucks equipped with the 6.4 litre diesel engine, there’s an insufficient clearance of battery positive wire.

Long term contact of wire to the bolt will result in wire chafe that in turn results in exposure of copper wire. In this case, the B+ wire may short with the ground and in turn increase fire risk. Dealers will inspect the battery and if required, they will replace or reposition it.

Recall Due to Fuel System

Some of the 2008 F250 vehicles were recalled in April 2008. Drive shaft in the vehicle failed to meet the fuel spillage requirements. This in turn may cause damage to fuel delivery module in long run and in turn create fuel spillage. Number of potential units affected is around 64754.

Recall 1

On 26th January 2009, Ford recalled 2008 Ford F-250, which was developed on the platform of Ricon with wheelchair lifts. Sometimes, these lifts failed to comply with the needs of Safety Standards. Because of this, the antilock braking system may not predict the existence of platform weight.

As a result, the lift passenger may be injured. With this problem, nearly 108 units participated in this recall.

Recall 2

On 24th February 2011, Ford recalled 2011 Ford F-250, which had the problems with integrated diagnostic system. This is because of faulty software installed in this system. This software was not following the correct units of characters, and it doesn’t have capacity to locate a body control module that needs replacement of correct BCMs.

Due to this fault, the vehicle may lead to a serious crash or a misfire; approximately 8022 affected units participated in this recall and rectified.

Recall on Tires: Thread/Belt

Recalls on certain continental tires sizes vary from LT275/70R18 125/122S outline white letters and black sidewall, LT275/70R18 125/122S black sidewalls were held during 2009.

Reason of Recall: Some of these tires experienced uneven vibration or wear particularly under the conditions of high ambient temperature usage, overloading, or separation of belt edges. The separation of the belt edge at times lead to even thread belt disconnection thereby increasing the risk of a crash.



NHTSA advised the dealers to replace the affected tires at free of cost.

Recall due to Electrical System Problem

Ford F250 Diesel recalls on engine and electrical systems were held on December 31, 2010. Ford recalled more than 2000 F250 trucks and crossovers due to electrical system problems that could potentially result in a short circuit, and create a fire accident. The authorized dealers were suggested to repair the electrical system, and make necessary replacements.

Engine and Powertrains

Under the hood we see an all powerful 6.7 liter Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel engine that cranks a horsepower of 350 hp @ 3,000 rpm and generates a torque of 650 ft-lbs @ 1,600 rpm. The engine is mated to an automatic transmission.

Interior Features

Stampede edition features five seats for five passengers which includes a three people bench at the rear and a couple of high back power bucket style seats at the front. We also see a storage console at the front. The entire seating is leather coated and the model features a 6 – CD changer audio system.

Other Special Features

On the outside we see the model standing on 20 – inch chrome wheels, an off – road lift kit, a billet grille and fender flares. On the instrumental panel we see some extra upfitter switches which helps the owner to add more electrical accessories to the model.
